Your Life Is A Legacy

Good Morning,
Dennis has asked me to do the blog this morning…

I was reading a devotional by Joel Osteen about the LEGACY that his
grandparents and parents have left for him. I started to think about
the LEGACY that I am leaving for my children, and to be quiet frank I
was a bit convicted. What am I leaving for my children? Am I being a
godly example for them? Do they see me reading the WORD? Do they hear
me pray? Am I making the most of every opportunity? Along these
lines Pastor Bob Gass brings the following insights that will help us
develop a lasting LEGACY
‘Be…careful…how you live…making the most of every opportunity’
(Eph 5:15-16 NIV). How you spend your time reveals your real values
and priorities. Dad and Mom, are you spending quality time with your
children?

Karl Marx said that to conquer a nation you just have to block the
transfer of values, morals and beliefs between generations.
Solomon
said, ‘The righteous man walks in his integrity; his children are
blessed after him’ (Proverbs 20:7 NKJV). Dad and Mom, before you know
it your children will be gone, but what LEGACY will they take with
them? Your kids are like mirrors, they reflect what they see and it’s
hard for them to see God as their heavenly Father unless He’s clearly
visible in their earthly one. So: ‘…bring them up in the training
and instruction of the Lord.’ (Ephesians 6:4 NIV). ‘Tell the next
generation…of…His power, and the wonders He has done.’ If you
don’t; who will?

In conclusion, here are two quotes that put into perspective what has
been on my heart this weekend. I hope you will enjoy them, and may
they motivate you to prepare for a lasting LEGACY.

QUOTE: “If you can’t look back on having given Love and Attention to
your own family, what have you really accomplished?” Lee Iacocca

QUOTE: “Never throughout history has a man who lived a life of ease
left a name worth remembering.” Teddy Roosevelt

Thanks for letting me share with you this morning, and remember your
life is a LEGACY, therefore point it in the direction of the Cross.

Blessings,
Robin Webber
